I'm probably in the last 10% of people who wanna read a romance book with the later in life trope. I don't recall the blurb of this book or what made me pick it, so I was shocked when I started reading it and realised that it's about an elderly couple. Then I thought that obviously it's gonna be a book about women empowerment where she walks out on a bad husband. Imagine my surprise when he changes.

I've never read a book about a man this old who transforms and pines for his wife after she has left him. Usually it is slightly younger men in marriage in trouble romance books like the one Ana Huang writes. So this book was a total curveball. I hadn't thought that I would read such a book in 2025 or in any other year, but I am liking it a lot. It is good to believe in love surviving through a marriage. Nice plot.
