Mayflies don't bite or sting. Any naturalist worth their salt would know that, especially if researching an aquatic organism. This line discredits the scientific merit this book may have had. The historical perspective may yet hold up, but starting to get annoyed with the jumping around and memoir-esque aspects. Really disappointing.
