This book has mentioned the UAW several times now but nowhere does it explain what the UAW actually is. That is a major problem with the story in my opinion. Most of the time in words the "U" stands for "university"? So am I supposed to think this UAW is "University __ Washington"? But the story is set in Detroit Michigan. So??

Some of the small details mentioned in this story are quite interesting. Like the secret hiding places inside walls and furniture to hide alcohol during prohibition. The oversized molding on the window opened to reveal bottles!! 🍾 Who would have thought?? Plot wise it's about the Carter family trying to make money.

So I had started this while I was out on my walk today. The beginning was a bit startling and then there was a time shift. I am unsure where it will go.
