The MC just complained about having to read the longest sentence ever written, which is rich because author of this novel writes like she's paid by the word.

Not gunna like, I'm pretty close to DNFing this. The main character is completely obtuse. We're reminded every once in a while she can hold her own in a fight, but she's SO DENSE.
Also this is overwritten and lacking in worldbuilding at the same time. I get the sense the book could probably knock off at least 150 pages, but also I feel like I don't have a great grasp on the setting yet.
