Purple prose is essentially overwrought writing where the author focuses more on how the sentences sound rather than what they convey. This book has a shit ton of purple prose, just everywhere, and it takes away from the plot. Some scenes I don’t understand wtf is happening bc it’s so vague. Conversations are disjointed and unrealistic; they skip from one topic to another in very short, stilted dialogue.
