Hell Is the Absence of God: I actually quite liked this one, now that I’m more familiar with novelettes not written by Ted Chiang. Do I know what the message is supposed to be? No sir. But I sure will think about it.

I can’t believe I finished it either. All that’s left are the acknowledgments.
Liking What You See: A Documentary: a cool thought experiment. I think I liked it. He presented a lot of plausible arguments very well. I’m not sure if it’s my favorite story format, but it was fine.
I liked the story notes included at the end too. 👍

The Evolution of Human Science - this one was so short idk how to have thoughts on it. Touched on similar themes to other stories. It was good, I guess? I read it twice.

Seventy-two Letters: This is one was weird. I think the ideas explored are interesting, and Ted spends a lot of time building the world up. Overall I feel fine about the story, but it was too long for me, and I’ve heard too much about spermatozoa for this lifetime. Golems are cool though and I like them.

Story of Your Life: I expected this one to feel a lot like Division by Zero, but there’s a lot of love in this story in addition to the sci fi and I’m a fan. 6 ⭐️ and not just cause it made me cry.

Division by Zero: I’m starting to notice a theme here. I liked this story more than Understand, but it concluded so quickly, and I don’t think the theme was personally very interesting to me.

My brain is too small for Understand. It’s not everyday I find something I actively dislike the process of reading. That was probably done intentionally.

Finished Tower of Babylon and it was not what I expected out of this sci fi short story collection. In a good way :)
