This is my IRL book club selection for this month. 1855 yellow fever epidemic that ravaged Portsmouth & Norfolk VA. I live a couple of block from a small park and plaque dedicated to the 1 in every 4 people who lived in the area that died.
Aedes aegypti now had a hold in the New World. This species transformed into a legendary killing machine.. pp46-7.
