The Golden Chain of Salvation is on p. 146, but Sproul elaborates here on the pleasure of God in choosing some to be saved and some not. I’m particularly struck by his statement that God choosing according to his pleasure doesn’t mean his selection is arbitrary or capricious. It’s based on his GOOD pleasure.

Together the promises of God, the internal testimony of the Holy Spirit, the earnest of the Spirit, and the sealing of the Spirit comprise a solid ground for the believers full assurance of salvation. Assurance is not an essential of the faith. It is a comfort of the faith, a sense of well-being in the Faith.

I’m reading about humanity’s corruption. A grim topic!

I’m zooming along rather well. Interesting point that Jesus came not just to die a perfect Lamb, but to live perfectly as well.
