Um this is Maggie’s 5th chapter… we just finished Lina’s 4th chapter… Sloane still only has 2…. Ms.Taddeo what is this madness

One criticism I do have is that I am nowhere near as invested in Sloane’s story as I am Lina’s and Maggie’s. At this point, we’re on the 4th Maggie chapter and the 3rd Lina chapter but only the 2nd Sloane chapter. And we got WAY more understanding of the other twos stories in their first 2 chapters than we do of Sloane. I know very little of her desire, only her circumstance

2.) Roxane Gay’s review of this book was 2 stars 😬 I don’t agree at this point in the book

Isolation tactics summed up so well, I feel seen

This book is so sad. It’s terrifying!! Like omfg Maggie’s story is insane. I HATE AARON KNODEL. The power dynamic is not only uhhh ILLEGAL but so disgusting in itself. She’s not allowed to text first, the entire relationship is on his terms. I’m hoping Maggie learns how much power she has in this situation, and I’m really curious on how she gets out

This freaks me out. Bc knowing that the teacher and her end up being together, it’s obvious that their current relationship is the start of grooming. But if the two didn’t end up together, was it? It’s so hard to know ESPECIALLY with teachers when grooming starts, it’s terrifying.
