Early on in n the book I find it annoying that Clara, main character/daughter interchangeably calls her mother “Ma” or “Tamar”. I can’t figure out why she doesn’t stick with one or the other when speaking of her mom. And her best friends are named Sunshine and Brown?? I hope to finish this book, but it’s possible I quit early.
