I saw a video talking about Henrietta Lacks but it didn’t go into much detail other than her being the reason we have the HeLa cells. Yesterday I found a book at the library about her. It’s just been very sad. Her childhood reminds me of my granny’s. She was raised by her grandparents from the age 4 with a gaggle of other cousins. She passed away from cervical cancer at 29 after having 5 kids already.
