- So the protag is going to be staying in a room away from everyone else which is pretty convenient.
- One page the guide says there’s no available rooms and the next second he says there’s loads of spare rooms but he’s been given an order. I can’t decide if this is an editing mistake or intentional because this is very suspicious. If it’s the latter then this is genius and THEY’RE ONTO YOU MAN. RUN!!

- Back on this book and it’s so engaging and easy to get sucked in. That’s vampires for you, eh👀 (haha)
- It’s poetic and shocking that her name is not Ashley June. The fact that Gene named her that because he reminds her of how he felt when he saw the ashes of their burnt books in the June sun is so tragically beautiful.
- I needn’t have worried in my last update, Gene does feel bad for the Dome humans.

- I know this is a dog eat dog world where they are constantly fighting for their survival, so it would be too much to ask for them to be thinking about anyone’s safety other than their own. But still I’m surprised that Gene who has spoken to the Dome humans twice hasn’t yet seen that they are not so different from him and are worth saving. His new ally at least seems to have given it more thought than he had.

- Honestly, between now and my previous update I was starting to be convinced by the book that my suspicion about Ashley June was wrong. BUT I WAS RIGHT. I. WAS. RIGHT. I did yelp out loud.
- Now I have a new suspicion that the Scientist from the library who suddenly disappeared is somehow helping Gene and his new ally eliminate the vampires so they can help the Dome humans escape. It’s too much of a coincidence…

- I just yelped out loud because why did I think this was going to be a romance with our protag who is pretending to be a vampire and one of the humans he is being forced to a hunt and then along comes one Miss Ashley June and I did not EXPECT THIS TWIST. And she’s frikking smooth with it asking them to roll the windows down and she’s one of the populars so it’s doubly hard for her. This is why she was staring!

- Referring to people by their seat number is smart except you can have different seats in different classes.
- So can vampires breathe underwater? Or is it just that everyone no longer wanted to swim in circumstances where they might drown?
