For last couple years I'm reading very female centric and/or queer stuff that this is kind of shocking me with the manliness and with how unironic some of the tropes are (speaking about the love interest here... mostly.) but I am not like bothered by it? I think it's done in a way that... the stuff that's WRONG is wrong on purpose and you should be able to tell as a reader? But it is a bit titillating as well.
