I hate Dean.

Getting real tired of this Dean fellow.

What is this obsession white people have with Black people being able to have joy even when they have to deal with everything they have to deal with? It’s so annoying and dehumanizing. Most bothersome aspect of this book.

Starting to think Dean is a god figure.

“His chief hate was Washington bureaucracy; second to that, liberals; then cops.” Is kind of solid politics. It’s too bad this man believe red scare propaganda but we’re almost to the Cold War.

I love how this is written you get a great few sentences explaining how wild these people are and thrown in there is the old “there was even an Asian girl” like buddy you are in NEW YORK how have you not met an Asian lady before? Wild bit of 50’s “liberal” sentiments.

Lots of rushing places but not much happening idk if that’s good or bad. Sal is a loser I kind of like him.

Finished the intro and now I’m thinking that maybe all of America has been a lost generation since the 1920’s. Maybe I’m a pessimist.
