Still learning a lot! Now, about Thomas Jefferson and his enslaved people.

I really, really appreciate that Black voices are telling these stories. I think it would go without saying, but you never really know. It’s important to have accurate, just representation when telling the stories of those who have not been given the opportunity or permission to do so!

Wow!! I’m learning a LOT. Obviously I knew that the founding fathers were slaveholders. However, this is a really good nonfiction narrative and does a great job explaining the relationship between George Washington and Billy Lee (thus far) without being “too boring” or dry. It’s definitely worth listening to as an audiobook — otherwise I might have fallen asleep by now… OOPS.
