Something I just realized that I didn't get when reading Final Girls is that the reason why the flashback chapters are in 3rd person past tense POV isn't just to separate them from the current 1st person present-tense narrative, but also so Sager can show us a 3rd person Omniscient view into multiple characters' heads.
