She left town behind and has no intention to stay any longer than necessary. Her father Henry was a mean, despicable, manipulative and used his extreme wealth to abuse and crush everyone. He was well hated by the town. On her way to funeral the first person she runs into is her first love who broke her heart. He was a bad boy back in the day but is now a cop, single dad with a daughter and thinks the death is murder.

Book 4 in a series I have only read book 2 and I really didn't like it much. I bought several of this series on audible so will try to see if this one is better. I normally like this author a lot so book 2 was a huge downer for me. So far book 4 is about Hallie Cavanaugh who has to return to town for her father's funeral - a command by the attorney.
