I can struggle with Shupe but an Anastasia retelling will always get me to come running.
I'm thinking more about how this is going to be received, it's clearly written stylistically trying to update historical romance for booktok/new readers and that's already telling me there's a problem in my lack of getting emerged into the story.

Please love it please love it😂 I have been looking forward to this . What did booktok do this time? 😂 They usually leave HR alone and only ruin Romantasy.

It's dual first person pov and the general tone and beat, it's definitely reading different than other Shupe's I've read. I miss intimacy which seems to be replaced with a growled "you're mine". The MMC says he wish she was his around 20% and I'm like what?, do you know this person???
I'm trying but this vibe and style isn't usually for me, will be curious if it works for newer readers, which clearly it was written to appeal to.
