Hehe perhaps I may had overestimated the situation and turns out we'll just keep reading. Marissa Meyer can keep us on the edge of our seats! But it still feels somehow hollow. It does seem packed with action though, so there's nothing we can do to meditate but keep on reading! But it's not bad, really- :)

The plot definitely gets me turning the pages but it's as if I've lost the connection to the characters! Hopefully it's because I've taken such a big break, not something wrong with the book entirely. But then, that would make a terrible, unreliable review, haha- I like Winter but it’s getting ever-so complexed when all I want is the simple, whimsical story that book 1 gives us... Break again? 🥲

Levana is so driven by emotions! I love how Marissa describes her - so accurately as a villain too. This is so tense right now and we're only a third through the book :0 Really engaging again, but perhaps not the best work? Marissa is still AMAZING though, no question. Hopefully I don't have to be stuck in a sorta-slump again, with the insane amount of context / plot, and severe lack of time...! Fingers crossed :)

Back on track! Let's see if this works...

I’m really surprised about how vile Levana is. Honestly I shouldn’t be! But the descriptions make this hard to read! Just so much murder. It’s also getting a bit sidetracked to all these intense scenes that don’t really capture the tension and may conclude with the overall plot. I understand why some say various parts were irrelevant! It’s 50 50, though- Realistic but not enticing. Let’s see how it goes!

Sloooow progress but life is hectic at the moment. Finally I can get reading and back to Lunar Chronicles, though by immensely other means

We do have a LOT of characters now, so I’m excited to see how dear Marissa let them be! Sighs. But something is STILL MISSING. What? 🫠 I think I unlocked a new biggest fear; the diminishing of good books because of my intense dissections and sky high standards, not to mention the small amount of genres I find fascinating- Hope to read more, because time is looking smug!! :0

It’s definitely difficult to connect and comprehend some facets of this story, as I’m not an avid YA reader. But, well, I’m just here for the ride! It’s plenty fun so far, but of course it’s not as page turning yet. Considering I’ve only like around 1/8 of the book, I hope this does get better :) It’s truly a great series, just too much time in between reading Cress and this.
