Interesting conversation to be had about the mentions of Odysseus's maidservants being used sexually, if he thought it was consensual or not. He did speak as if the suitors coerced them, but how would he know?

Penélopê remains standoffish. She doesn't believen its Odysseus until he reminds her of "their secret". The olive tree he built their bedroom around and then used for the bedframe. They make love, recount the lost time, and fall asleep in the bed. Thought Odysseus just needs to see his father and fulfill Teirêsias prophecy to please Poseidon.

"to glory over slain men is no piety.Destiny and the gods' will vanquished these, and their own hardness." 12 of his female SLAVES went"bad",were the suitors' "harlots".He makes them dispose of the bodies and clean the hall of blood before hanging all of them outside.Melánthios was sorta crucified during the slaughter and the last killed. They cut his ears, nose, hands, and feet off before feeding his genitals to dogs

Odysseus takes the bow, strings it up and aims perfectly through all the axeheads. Then he shoots all his arrows to the suitors, killing many before using spear and broadsword to finish off. His companions kill plenty themselves. They spare a minstrel and herald for reasons. Athena aides the team by diverting shots from the suitors. O had some great lines before he started the onslaught. Particularly after Antínoös.

Penélopê prepares a final trial for choosing her husband. Shooting with his prized bow through axeheads. Yet they can't even string the bow let alone shoot with it, due to lack of strength which they admit compares them beneath Odysseus. Odysseus confesses who he is to Eumaios and a cowheard to prepare for the slaughter on his side. Penélopê insults Eurýmakhos.Telémakhos grows(?) By telling her to leave it to the men

Two gates for ghostly dreams: one, honest horn; the other fantastical ivory. Odysseus tosses and turns in bed while angry at the maidens and suitors, comparing himself to a growling bitch hound with her puppies(his home). Is it a holiday? Tension is rising between Odysseus and Telémakhos v.s. the suitors. Theoklýmenos says cryptic death prophecy shit. Athena makes the suitors laugh continuously til they're in pain

Odysseus and Penélopê talk; he is given a bath from his old nurse, Eurýkleia. She handed him to his grandfather, Autólykos, who named him. She recognizes him due to a scar he received in Parnassos. He silences her with threats of killing her like the other maids, hand to her throat. Jesus. P recalls her ominous dream: a mountain eagle flew down and kills 20 fat geese feeding near her house.

Penélope monologues about what Odysseus said to her when the finally parted: encouraging her to move on and marry when T became an adult. She gets gifts out of the suitors before retiring. O ushers the women to their quarters after scaring them, calling a random one a slut after she insults him. Some of the suitors go to their own homes after Odysseus and Eurýmakhos nearly tussle.

Yet A can't leave, and it is predicted that Telémakhos will kill him via spear. Athena leads Penélopê to show herself one last time. After touching her over with grace, ambrosia, and paling her in a brief nap. She chastizes T for letting the beggar be abused. I like their conversation, its sad.

A beggar boxes O for the suitors amusement called Iros. He loses and is tossed out the home by O. Antínoös had sworn that if he lost he would send him to Ékhetos, a king in Epeíros, who skins men alive. O takes pity on Amphínomos due to his nobility and father, and alludes to the death that will come if he keeps living dangerously. O seems to regret being too brave for his own good. Yet A can't leave.

Penélopê asks to meet the beggar. O rainchecks on that. Cute moment where T sneezes and P laughs. Eumaios leaves for home as evening comes. Character fun fact: T refers to Eumaios as 'Uncle' due to how he grew up with Odysseus.
