I'm really enjoying the book although I just started. I am thankful that the author specifically chose to tell stories of African American life and explore themes of grief, mental health, and being raised by your grandparents. I feel seen already.

Just so happened to find this author by scrolling on Eventbrite and was able to secure a ticket to see her speak this upcoming Thursday! I went ahead and purchased the audiobook to be prepared to converse with her in person!
