Ahhh he admitted to killing the cousin. The sunshine and elements remind him of the positivity and potential of nature. But when he is hurt mistakenly thought of causing harm to a lady he saves by the river, he thinks of humans as an inherently dangerous species culminating in hurting a child, relative to his creator.

I love the creature POV chapters. The curiosity of learning my and the fascination of discovering new things like food and language that we take for granted is refreshing and fun.
