This whole Chapter Actually had me emotional. Especially the monologues between the Nightmare and Elspeth.
She won’t die I don’t think but what will her degeneration be? From the hint in the previous chapter I’m guessing it has something to do with her voice?

That’s different. Their magic system is based on trading Cards. There are different categories. Providence cards (very rare, only 12 total) and Chalice Cards are the one I know of. Elspeth’s father has a providence card
