Wow 23+ years on the island without companionship. Friday finally arrives on the island.

11 years in!!

He has now spent a year on the island and has just discovered a more Eden-like area of the island full of fruit, fowl and turtles, where he sets up a secondary home.

Another book for a group read that goes at a pace for detailed discussion. I may have bit off more than I can chew with 3 of these type of reads at the same time!! Certainly will try to keep up.

I usually avoid the intros for these classics as they often give away too much of the story, but since I knew the bones of this story I read the excellent 28 pp intro before moving through chaps 1 & 2.
