Ok the storyline is really interesting. The time line events is still all over.
Like in one paragraph he’s talking to his mom, and then it’s a week later. I mean… in paragraph?

How can eyes glitter like black beetle wings ?

So far I’m not reading of any fae. The MMC are human Faun.

It’s strange how the writer will have huge jumps in time, from one paragraph to another.
For example talking to his mother, then the the paragraph is “a week later”. No brake or separation or smooth transition.

17% honestly this weirdly placed time jumps are making it hard to continue

I’m at 15% I like the characters and the storyline seems ok for now.

The pacing and timeline is strange though. This makes it frustrating and hard to keep reading. Adairs pet name for National is cringy too, in my opinion.
