Ambivalent about this book so far. On the plus side, I’m sucked into Marian’s storyline completely and I don’t want to put the book down. On the flip side, the characters are too self-aware in ways that make their resulting actions improbable and frustrating. The author doesn’t trust her readers and must spoon-feed us. Insulting. And the ‘shroom scene was almost physically painful. Onward… tentatively.
