Can they do that? At my library, if you have a book (text or audio) checked out and other patrons are holding for a copy, you cannot renew it. The systems will automatically return it to the virtual shelf once your checkout period expires, and the next time your device connects, it gets pulled. Even if the person who has it still has a copy locally because they refuse to connect their device, the copy is put back into the system following the end of the checkout period.

Idk what’s going on, but there’s 2 copies and 2 people waiting for each copy and I haven’t moved. The queue isn’t that long! Frustrating.

Lame, so lame. It's usually the longest wait when they only have a couple copies.
