Ik I just said I wanted a more realistic unlearning-what-must-be-unyielding-cisnormativity-it’s-literally-the-1800s but also. Gracewood is so real for this. He said okay 👍 i listened and learned 👍👍 can we get married now.

He does accept it far too quickly. And, honestly, anything else would have been somewhat difficult to read through. But I do find myself itching for a bit more realistic arc of his in that regard. that’s actually really interesting to think about how men and women really COULDNT be friends in that society. there was really no way to interact besides romance, sex, or “polite indifference.” you couldn’t like. hang out
