a lesbian thing might be my favorite chapter. her writing style makes sense in this setting. she should just write lesbian smut and that’s all

“does sex ever feel like this for a man? does his tree change and spout does the system get up? Does he go? I once was laying in bed with her, and she got me off by touching, and I am still sinking backwards in that picture a morning in which I lie in bed, looking out the window at a passing train.”

“Minds are always being taken over. succumb don’t resist. because we do get to choose what we are succumbing to. We create world out of what we put in our heads. I don’t know about you. It’s why I read.”

I really don’t hate her writing anymore— it’s definitely for a certain mood and brain capacity. Like in the morning when your brain is fresh and can notice the little things. (Though, dialogue is still insufferable).
The way she describes her life is very poetic— she is a great poet— that’s what makes this book interesting. It doesn’t feel like a real novel with a straight chain of events.
