While reading this, I find myself talking about it more to people in my life about Islam. Yes, it was founded on conquest to convert and survive, and yes there are some troubling passages in the Quran, but it was a lot more progressive for its time than Christianity and can be very welcoming of others, a lot more tolerant than Catholicism; we just see the worst of it in the media.
