"The Woman in the Room". I didn't think I could read it. no, it's not horror unless you live with daily almost intolerable pain. Like someone else on here says-"Hit's too close to home". Well, after my afternoon dose (That's 9 pills) I decided do get it read while I was in the tolerable camp. Mini-triumph for me. Yes, it's sad, but what he did was right!!!!!

Well, just a few left. Since I've been reading them out of order I have to look forward to Trucks, The Lawnmower man, and I know what you need...you may be able to figure out why those three are last....

As far as I have been able to find out, out of these 20 impressive tales, 9 (possibly 10-it was published the same year) of these stories were published Pre-Carrie in magazines (which hers was another short story for a magazine, which Tabitha wisely pushed him into making it a novel, gotta love her!) And 9 have been made into movies, some for the big-screen, some for the tv. Pretty good for his earliest writing ever!

I'm most impressed with the fact that a good amount of these shorts are King's earliest work...when he had to sell his works to magazines to get his start...and for his family's financial survival. More than a quarter are pre-Carrie. It is so impressive that he was such a great writer at that young age. He really put his heart into it.
