Not to speak ill of someone who has suffered tremendously, but Bill Mantlo was never a great writer. You could always tell when he gave a shit, though...the quality of these original Micronauts tales has varied wildly, but, man, did he deliver a finale! Boy, did Marvel do the fans who have been clamoring for these Micros omniboo for years a disservice by not including the X-Men/Micronauts mini-series. Taking place ONE ISSUE before writer Bill Mantlo's finale, the mini is, for all intents and purposes, the end of the series, aside from the final battle with Baron Karza. Yes, the Epstein-esque pedophile Professor X is a but awkward, but still....You blew it, Disney!
