I'm guessing I could recommend this story to anyone who loves a classic Fantasy book, but is looking for something that extends the genre.
There's a quest and prophecies (pretty standard), and there are a disproportionately high number of female and LGBT characters--for a classic fantasy tale (unless you count all the likely closeted LGBT characters in classic fantasy tales). It ticks all the important boxes.
