This is great. A one star review notes how this book is lacking in criticism, shamelessly revealing the authors general agreement with the views of the thinkers discussed, but as someone who also broadly agrees with the thinkers discussed, this gives me the warm fuzzies and makes me feel very smart and correct. Again, this book is really just an attempt to summarise a collapse-adjacent facet of the thought of these “prophets”, so as a work it’s really quite weak, but it’s one of those rare books that ties together disparate traits of thoughts that I’ve had for years, finally giving some clarity where I previously had none, although I am on the extreme right so I guess that’s no surprise

On a serious note, the book *is* essentially just facts and quotes but having only a bit of experience with the views of ~3 of these guys beforehand, I don’t mind that at all. From his chapter it sounded like I have almost total ideological alignment with Giambattista Vico, so I’m excited to read more of him in the future. Thanks Neema!
