As a teenager I used to think Achilles was a coward and selfish. But no lie, reading it as an adult I have mad respect for him. Achilles is the OG protester for labor equality, and I can't say I haven't felt every word he just said to the envoy. I've worked for some Agamemnons in my time and I have no regrets taking the Achilles approach.

I'm delighted that every time I reread this I'm every bit as engrossed as I was the first time. EV Rieu's translation does such an amazing job of bringing this story to life. Book 6 gets me every time 😭
