The first story is an interesting blend of faith and romance, with a lot of theological discussions between a Jewish family and a Christian one in 1835 New York City. A lot of prejudice between cultures and social classes. The elite upper class especially looking down on the tradesmen. It was well written, with believable characters. 4*
