Clearly I am dead inside because it’s been 48 hours since my acquirement of this ARC and I’m just not feeling it. Agnes and her weird power is too similar to Roscille. Marozia and Agnes’s subtly incestuous relationship is offputting. Nothing is happening, and I don’t care. I just don’t care.

the story is picking up a bit, and the beginnings of a rupture between Agnes and Marozia are forming. I’m finding myself more entranced by literally everyone else’s POV except for those two. Every scene with them is claustrophobic and odd. Even Ninian is more exciting.
