If a box like this showed up on my front porch, I would choose to open it. Although it might seem scary, I would want to know how much longer I have and would do what I want based on what's in the box.

I think the song can be related to the theme of accepting the unknown future.

I would try to sympathize with the person I was arguing with without making them feel like they're any less important. I would also acknowledge the fact that I have no idea what they're going through, but that I'm here for them.

If I were a short stringer, I would want to fight for my rights, and I understand why it'd be important, but at the same time, I don't think it's fair to compare a measure of life to one's color of skin.

If I were Hank and I knew I only had a few more months to live, I would do what he did. I would rather go out in a way that I knew would happen while doing something honorable, than waiting and waiting for something extremely unexpected to come and get me.

If I existed in the same world as the measure, I would choose to open my child's box. As a parent, I would want to know how much time I get with my kid. I don't think I would tell my kid, no matter the length.

I do believe in miracles. There are just so many stories that have no explanation whatsoever.

If I had a long string, I would choose not to test my string. Just because I'm not gonna die doesn't mean I'm going to continue to live well and as good as I was before I attempted to test my string.

At first, I believed that there were just two points of view, but after reading a bit farther into the novel, I'm now realizing that there are multiple. Having different POVs is interesting and gives the reader a better understanding of the entire story and what everyone is feeling.
