The writing in this book is... interesting. For example, in this scene the heroine Sigrid is speaking with the Hero Jerry about an acquaintance of theirs whose wife had just been in an explosion and isn't likely to live... "She smiled at him. 'It's sweet of you to act concerned. I feel sorry for him. He acts so helpless and pathetic.' How thoughtful Jerry was!"
