I have never hated an academic's introduction this much before — shockingly dismissive and misogynistic, venomous, uncaring, uncurious. Simone's letters that followed are tender, afraid, and so so profound. I'll probably need to reread them many times to get their full message. Some of the best and most interesting writing on God I've ever read.
