What this author doesn't know about French women is a lot. A shame because the books are usually great characters but this one is so not there. The French love their culture and they don't let go of it. Even if she had moved to America she wouldn't be so stereotypical "american". The way she speaks, the thing she's interested in, the environment it's all wrong which is a bummer because usually they're all correct.
