would you believe in this short amount of pages he was even more egregiously racist, then actually was like, 'but ultimately we shouldn't group all groups together that's probably wrong' which was surprisingly good, disproved the 1910s reverse bigfoot theory, and is now onto something completely different.

I have been reading and taking meticulous notes on this book for over a full year and then 6 months or so. Is it racist absolutely, egregiously. Is it still, unfortunately, full of really important primary sources on folklore. also yes.
