I actually don’t think I’ve ever read a book quite like this? in many ways it seems pynchon intentionally wrote this to be confusing but in a way that feels fun to follow along with — you almost get swept up in the conspiracies and coincidences at play, as overwhelming as it can get. not to mention, the writing is incredibly witty and smart!

chapter 5’s 40 pages tested my patience a little but in ways that kind of feels like pynchon’s point here — oedipa’s spiral into paranoia over perceived conspiracy that could or could not be hallucinatory is a lotttt and you kind of question the point, but i’m really along for the ride. love the dr. hilarius section in this chapter

definitely going to be a book I have to let go and let God with but I’m excited to let pynchon’s words wash over me. so far I love the image of oedipa looking like a “beach ball with feet”
