What is new horror's obsession with not making death count??? This is the third modern horror book I've read, in a row, that brings a dead character back from, you guessed it, the dead! Fuckety fuck fucking fuckery! This was going so well 🥺😭😭😭 That brings my glowing five stars down to a dull three.

This book is wild and surreal, as all of Starling's work is. She really should be a household name by now. I can only blame everyone's obsession with reality, which is weird considering the times we live in.

Starling always finds the coolest ways to isolate her characters. She's such a unique talent, and she's good people, too.

This is my kinda book. Starling has yet to disappoint me and this one seems to be following that trend.
