I wanted to LOVE this book, and I did for the first 50 or so pages and then nothing happened…and then the same things happened…and then it became religious, preachy and full of eye-roll moments. This really could have been a gem, but it wasn’t. It took effort to read past 100 pages and it wasn’t pure stamina and willpower that allowed me to read to the end. I guess a nice person as the hero is just boring?
