You know what would be fun? If Alice is actually dead all this time/stuck in the between or whatever they have here, and Peter coming with her is kind of like an Orpheus moment

…there better not be a surprise reveal of either a short lifespan regardless of the price they need to pay, or grand sacrifice of one’s lifespan in the future of this book because so far I’m actually still finding this funny
