We can see the early seeds of radicalisation in Pierrot - his desire to make his father “proud”; his desire to be like one of the soldiers so nobody can pick on him. But he is also (for now) holding onto his innocence, like his horror about the chicken killings, and his kindness towards Anshel even when everyone is telling him to stop associating with him!

We’ve already had a cameo from Bruno (his smile and wave to Pierrot), Ralf, Gretel, and Kurt (a bully, surrounded by other boys from Hitler Youth, who eats Pierrot’s sandwiches).
