So despite Austria having no colonial history, this museum wants it to be guilty anyway and they justify it by claiming a country looking out for its economy and sending explorers is already colonial? And Franz Ferdinand's world tour somehow is also despite him paying for everything he got and while looking down on some people he praised e.g. Australian aborigines for their struggle against white settlers.

Fitting end, it makes more sense to donate money to get people out of Slavery in sudan than to give money to return some random rock someone picked up at the Kilimandscharo.

It sounds very tempting to give all these artifacts to the african countries and let them squabbel about who owns them. Then it would be no longer our problem, Albeit I doubt it will stop there, it is probably going to be even more blaming Europe.

Frank Franz, a guy from the NPD (Heimat) straight up confirmed that this Scafidis woman thinks völkisch just like he does. He is an ethnopluralist and both he and she both believe in a Volksoul, which is the primary source of an identity of a Volk, only who carries it can understand, live, develop and authentically embody the culture of a Volk. The descendents today get biollogcially connected to their ancestors.

He has a point, those postcolonialists are at a problem. If they apply their own rules evenly, then they must act the way they allegedly despise because they treat african societies with their own rules, which they do anyway or have to treat history with all of its nuances without all the guilt tripping.

And originally the child of an owner with his concubine was the owner's property, later on the German empire managed some concessions: children of house slaves should be halffree and their children should be free.

The duala had 6 terms for slaves depending on social rank and origin. The most important one was mukom (a slave bought and born in Duala) and mukoma (a war prisoner), the latter was of higher status and more likely to be sacrificed or sold into the atlantic slave trade because he was harder to keep subservient. And most slaves lived in seperate areas in a koto (an enclosure). And female slaves were often concubines.

Looks like these two Kamerunians were quite well liked. And funny, these people back then did not look at skin color but modern progressives demand exactly that.

Oh, so when the natives of Papua Neuguinea sold these items to the germans they had already become worthless after the ceremonies anyway so restitution makes no sense. They only have historical value for some of the native artists now to see how it was done back then.

So the hamburg museum's leader doesn't like the words Volk and ethnicity but likes using the term ethnography, that is just hypocritical.
