oh. that was a very quick escalation.

Betrayal trauma is (your trusted loved ones)- your brothers and sisters turning on you, hurting you, repeatedly- telling you it's your fault, and that (you're) too sensitive. Gaslighting and emotional manipulation. Their (whites) truth is not your truth- and you're in the wrong for having a different experience- since "their" bible speaks "their" truth (preaching that weaponizes the bible to speak falsehoods).

White Christians don't want racial justice or unity, they don't want reconciliation. They want power. They don't want to put in the work. They don't want to come out of their ignorance- acknowledging their wrongs or purposeful "neutrality" (ignoring history and their personal actions).

the anti-immigration position of white Christians has been fermenting. Trump is the personification of it. Trump in power- in control of the U.S. is what's so dangerous about it- his openness of it- it's scary.

And as a person- I just don't understand how you cannot see the racism of it all- it's not even underlying microaggressions- this is racism. point blank. why do people find this okay? on any level?

"whatever issues white Christians are concerned about will always take precedence over seeking racial justice and finding unity across color lines" which is such the disappointing truth- because (to me) white nationalism is inseparable from Christianity at this point because of how Christianity has historically been weaponized by pastors and continues to be.

The example used to "show" betrayal trauma" was not particularly compelling. It was less about the example itself and more about the writing- If it had been written like Teeth by Otto where I know nothing about the subject matter, but the examples used are emotionally engaging to MAKE me care- it would have been more effective.

This page continually states that "we will not be making the claim" that this, that, or the other is what Christians are or what Christianity is... but it does come off as that- because while Christians/Christianity is not a monolith - it does contain those things/people. This religion while not founded to be used to weaponize politics- has been used that way. And while not inherently racist- it is in its churches.

beyond racial and religious trauma- this could be considered "betrayal trauma" people or institutions which a person depends on significantly violates a persons trust or well being

not being treated with gentleness or care- being "too black" is "distracting. when atrocities have occurred in the black community- the "white world" hasn't changed. Concerns and opinions ignored and silenced- "diversity" is no longer welcomed. The cost is too high to face white supremacy in faith- a place that should be safe.
