oh god IT IS the Scary Movie, but like, minus scary, plus true crime, since the girl is a forensics expert or something, and she helps this ghost pirate from the 1700s investigate the murders he had been accused of and hanged for, when he actually did not kill anyone. So rn she has to go back in time (that's the whole other storyline why she can possibly do that) to help identify the killer and possibly save the victims. That's absolutely batshit crazy 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks! Alas, it was a typical thirst trap: the book introduced me to a red-headed blue-eyed pirate, and I was too weak to resist. And now, it's so messy I cannot look away.
